How To Cure Yeast Infection: Some Of The Foods To Avoid

If you suffer from yeast infection, you shouldn’t worry too much about it. Here are some tips to heal yourself and live a better life.

One of the ways to prevent yeast infections is to avoid harmful foods. Avoid all sweets that have hidden sweeteners, such as processed foods. Processed foods include soups, fruit and fruit juices, flaked grains of prepared cereals such as buckwheat, rice, spelt, wheat, millet, corn, and rye.

Any form of pasta can aggravate a yeast condition.

In addition to this, you should avoid eating granola, instant oats, cornmeal, pearl barley, degermed grits, and degermed blue microwave popcorn. Pasta should also be avoided when suffering from yeast infections, and should not be eaten when suffering from one.

This is because pasta is made from flour and water, where the flour is white bread flour and may be durum wheat flour made from semolina. Most of the noodles are also made from the same base and therefore should be avoided. This includes instant Ramen noodles, grits, white flour noodles, and Japanese noodles.

Cakes, pastries, donuts, and other baked goods that contain sugar should be avoided, as they all contain sugar. Besides this, white bread, wheat bread like Nan, paratha, tortillas, pita bread, sourdough and other wheat breads. Even Mochi, the unleavened but sweet bread made from brown rice should be avoided.

Ketchup and decaffeinated coffee are not recommended for yeast infections

If you like legumes, it’s best to avoid beans and peas that have sweeteners, bean sprouts, tempeh, and tofu, as they all aggravate yeast infections. Coconut, peanuts, tree nuts, sweetened soy milk, dairy products, and pistachios should be avoided, along with all types of cheese. This includes cottage cheese, milk, sour cream, kefir, and sweetened yogurt.

When you are suffering from a yeast infection, it is best to avoid fruits altogether as fruits have fructose sugar which aggravates the infection. Once you avoid fruits and cleanse your body, you can start introducing fruits that are slightly sweet like apples, strawberries, grapefruit, and melons. However, dried fruits are a complete no-no when suffering from a yeast infection.

Among drinks, alcohol should be avoided, both regular and decaffeinated coffee, cereal drinks, fruit juices, processed tea drinks like lemon teas, fruit teas, black tea and both soft drinks like diet fruit drinks. Pickles, tomato sauce, any form of tomato sauce, dried or powdered onion or garlic, and spices should also be avoided.

Beef, chicken, and pork should be avoided as antibiotics and hormones have been added to them. Like smoked meats like bacon, salami products and sausages have added sugar and should be avoided.

Among the vegetables, you should eat beans, cabbage, cucumbers, tomatoes, spinach, lettuce, kale, onion, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, peas, and celery. There are some vegetables that should be avoided like all kinds of mushrooms, potato skins, beets, canned tomatoes, carrots, cucumber skins, and prepared soups.
