The Sony Bravia KDL-46V2500 is a high-quality LCD HDTV with stunning images.

The Sony Bravia KDL-46V2500 46″ LCD HDTV is a great set, as is the smaller 40″ 40V2500. The picture is great right out of the box, but some recommend turning off the vivid setting and setting it to neutral and then adjusting the HDTV to perfection. The colors are incredible and impressive. Playing video games on Xbox 360 or PS3 is beautiful and watching Blu-Ray movies in 1080p is simply amazing. There’s a reason Sonys cost more and the difference in quality is worth the difference in price.

The price of the Sony Bravia KDL-46V2500 LCD HDTV has dropped considerably as of this review, so it can now compete with other brands if you’re on a budget. If you’re hesitant to pay for the fancier, more expensive XBR models, then the V-Series is the model to get. The XBR definitely looks better aesthetically, but performance-wise you won’t notice much of a difference unless you’re an HDTV expert. The 46V2500 uses the same LCD panel as the XBR series.

Watching HDTV Sony Bravia KDL-46V2500 LCD HDTV is awesome, but most shows haven’t made the jump to HD yet. However, the standard screen isn’t bad and can be seen compared to other HDTVs where anything other than HD is absolutely awful to watch. This set should hold you back until you get HD programming or until most shows switch to 1080p.

There have been some complaints about “foggy” or “cloudy” when the TV shows dark scenes. Some people can’t stand it and it’s a deal breaker for them, but some people can tolerate it and consider it just a minor annoyance that is outweighed by the impressive image quality. However, this problem does not seem to appear on all KDL-46V2500s because many people have not noticed it. It’s also been reported that the fog was fixed on models made after Dec 6, 2007, so you should be fine if you buy a new one now, but double check to make sure.

The internal sound of the KDL-46V2500 is nice and clear and very good for a TV that is rare. The menu is also nice and intuitive and the remote is fine, but it can feel a bit cheap. Chances are you’ll get a universal remote anyway. Who has time to juggle multiple remotes?

If you plan to watch DVDs on the Bravia KDL-46V2500 LCD HDTV, I suggest you get an upconversion DVD player like the Sony DVP-NS77H/B 1080p Upconversion DVD Player with HDMI Output. The quality is much better than normal DVD players and almost looks like HD. I also suggest watching DVDs in widescreen format rather than full screen because the TV will distort and stretch the picture and there are no settings around it.

Overall, the Sony Bravia KDL-46V2500 is a high-quality LCD HDTV with stunning images. Playing video games and watching movies will constantly surprise you and your friends. If you’re looking for a great LCD TV at the right price, this set may be the one for you. You’ll get a quality Sony TV at a price that can rival Samsung and Toshiba. I definitely recommend this.
