The importance of a hutch to raise healthy and happy rabbits

Any true pet lover would want nothing but the best for their “friends”. As such, they often find themselves surfing the internet for the best feeding/diet, care and grooming advice they can give their pet. On the other hand, some people tend to forget that those aren’t the only factors to consider if you want to keep your friends happy. Aside from food, vitamins, and grooming, one of the main factors to consider is a home or living facility.

Well, that really can’t be a problem if you’re taking care of cats and/or dogs, right? This is because you can easily share your home with them. But what if you own something else that you can’t exactly walk through your house? Like a rabbit perhaps? What kind of housing can be arranged for them?

If you plan to keep your rabbits outside where they can get plenty of sun and a cool breeze, then getting a rabbit hutch may be one of your options. Their wood and metal construction is enough to give them the protection they need from inclement weather and the metal wire mesh that doubles as a window is adequate to give them the amount of ventilation they need.

But aside from that, hutches are also good homes for rabbits because the small, enclosed space inside them is enough to give them the feeling of protection they always seem to need. Yes, contrary to what most people know, rabbits can be very frightened. And they need the small spaces inside the cabin to make them feel safer all the time.

The entire structure is also built according to your needs. For example, the wire mesh or perforated floor that is built into the hutch is ideal because it allows your pet’s urine and feces to pass through easily. If a different style of flooring is used, not only will you have to deal with a stinky odor, but it will also make your pet more prone to skin diseases.

Lastly, if you consider putting a ramp and rabbit ramp in your hutch, your house can easily double as a gym too. Now if you are someone who has been taking rabbits for quite some time, you know this is important because rabbits in general are prone to obesity. So as an owner, you need to make sure your rabbits get the exercise they need at any given time. Keep in mind, however, that the rabbit run has to be as hard and heavy as the cages because dogs, cats, and foxes may have a tendency to chase them.

Those are some of the reasons why a rabbit hutch is important in raising not only a healthy but a happy rabbit. Now, if they are broad enough to convince you to buy one, then you can start looking for some designs from some reputable online stores.
