Cruise for the first time in the spirit of carnival

The Carnival Cruise Line is an incredible fleet of luxury cruise travel catering to all types of cruise ships. Families, couples and groups of friends of all ages are welcome aboard their ships and the entertainment is aimed at everyone.

The Carnival fleet currently contains 22 ships that are found around the world and are the most popular in the Caribbean. Some of the ship names include legend, victory, glory, pride, destiny, dream, and paradise.

Carnival eventually moved to Australian waters offering short trips to the east coast of Australia, but also to the beautiful islands of the South Pacific.

Currently only the Carnival Spirit leaves Sydney Australia and this is the ship that I had the privilege of experiencing. The Carnival Legend will soon be arriving in Australia shortly as well.

There are 10 levels in the Carnival Spirit that includes several restaurants, a day spa, a gym, 2 main pools for all ages, and an adults-only area that includes a pool and hot tub as well.

The entire ship is adorned with magnificent artwork, structures, and paintings, particularly in the Great Atrium, which has a multi-tiered painting that is around 6 tiers high.

What makes this Carnival Spirit stand out and appeal to both kids and the young at heart is its 50-foot waterslide known as the Green Thunder. This is located on deck 10 and counts down from 3. The waterslide is so fast that it couldn’t even tell you if the platform fell or backed up or what.

All restaurants on board are paid within the price of your cruise ticket, except for the steakhouse called Noveau. It costs $ 35 per person to eat here and it is well worth the price as you get 3 plates of the best quality meats. Make sure you come in hungry, these meals are huge.

The main restaurant also has 3 courses and table service and almost all of the waiters are outgoing, funny, and a little crazy, all in the name of fun. After dinner is served, there may be a song and / or dance by the waiters who help lift your spirits for fun times in the evening.

There are also plenty of bars around the ship including a karaoke bar, pool bars, the casino, the Shanghai bar, the grand atrium, and deck-walking waiters who come straight to you to take orders.

Lastly, the onboard entertainment is worth checking out, most of which takes place in the Pharaoh’s Palace, which is located on decks 2, 3 and 4. Here you can see magicians, hypnotists, dancers, big band concerts and more.

Directly below the palace is the Punch-liner Comedy Club, hosting 4-5 comics, most of which include an adult-only show.

Overall, the Carnival Spirit lived up to its reputation and makes the ride as comfortable and entertaining as possible. I would definitely book with Carnival again and would highly recommend it for first time travelers.
