Chuck Taylor green from the Converse All Star line

I recently took a good look at the Converse All Star line and was a bit surprised to find that the most popular color in the entire collection (apart from basic black or white) is Chuck Taylor Green!

Most people at one time or another have owned at least one pair of Converse All Star shoes (me included) and it turns out that more people who have one or more of the basic colors available have a pair in green. (Bargain prices for this color are also a bit higher than other colors, indicating higher demand.)

If you’re looking for a pair for yourself or someone you know, here’s what you can count on in terms of what’s available:

hi tops are probably the all-time favorites in green: the classic Hi Top shoes. These have a sturdy canvas upper with a flexible rubber outsole. High tops provide extra ankle support and are incredibly versatile for any casual wardrobe.

Tops – This is the original Chuck Taylor style and is a fun look in itself. Easy to put on and take off and they are also the favorite shoes of many people all over the world and they are also quite versatile for casual wear.

double top – This is my personal favorite in the Chuck Taylor Green collection. There are two tops, one lower than the other to reveal a contrasting color underneath. Both uppers of the shoe have eyelets, so one, both, or neither of the uppers can be laced for three distinctly different looks. In the year 2008, the Double Upper shoe from this line became extremely popular, even to the point that it was difficult to keep them in stock for some online merchants. These are (in my opinion) the most fun and trendy shoes in the entire All Star line.

Chuck Taylor shoes are for everyone. The various styles include men’s and women’s sizes, as well as toddler and infant versions. There’s even a sweet version of crib shoes that are great even for newborns and are absolutely adorable.

If you’re wondering how much a pair of green Chuck Taylors might cost, it really depends on the size and style you buy; for example, a pair of adult sized shoes will cost more than a child or toddler, while the simple classic design of the All Star shoes will cost slightly less than, say, the “Double Upper” design. Generally speaking though, if you’re paying retail prices, you can count on $40-$50 for adult sizes, a little less for children, and even less for smaller toddler and infant sizes. There are online resources that you can take advantage of to buy Chuck Taylor shoes at discount prices, you just have to know where to look.
