How to Cook a New York Tenderloin Steak

As you may know, New York Strip Steak is one of the most popular steaks in the United States today, primarily because of its marbling, tenderness, juiciness, and succulent flavor. Tenderloin steak is best when grilled, however it will taste just as divine fried. Cooking it in the oven is a misdemeanor as far as I’m concerned!

To grill:

  • Make sure your tenderloin steak is at room temperature before you start.
  • Trim fat that is longer than 1/2 inch and cut strips of fat every 1 inch lengthwise.
  • Lightly brush the tenderloin fillet with a good quality olive oil. It doesn’t matter much, since you don’t want grill flare-ups.
  • Coat each side of the fillets with 1 teaspoon black pepper and 1 teaspoon salt.
  • Preheat the grill and bring it to its highest temperature and then oil the grill.
  • Grill the tenderloin steak for three minutes, then flip for another three minutes. Then do it again for a total cooking time of 12 minutes. Try not to slide the fillets down the grill, pick them up with flip flops. And don’t turn them around. be nice to them
  • Use the blunt end of the roasting fork to check for desired tenderness, and remove when satisfied.
  • For rare, allow 12 minutes and then just add 2 minutes for each “done” level if there is such a word.

Let the steak rest for 5 minutes, trim off any remaining fat, and serve to your hungry crowd.

To pan fry:

– Rinse your New York steak with water and pat dry.
– Prick the steak with a fork all over and on both sides.
– Sprinkle a generous portion of salt and pepper on both sides and then massage or rub.
– Make sure the pan is preheated to medium heat and then add the cooking oil.
– Place the steak in the pan and place a lid on the pan.
– Let it cook for 2 minutes and then remove from heat.
– Open the lid and gently turn the steak. Replace the lid and reheat, cook for another 2 minutes. Repeat this process two more times for a total time of 12 minutes.
– Remove from heat and when it stops sizzling, remove lid and flip steak again, replace lid and return to heat.
– Check if it is tender and if it is done serving.
