Use These Kitchen Cleaning Tips To Make A Less Than Nice Job Easier

Our kitchens are the most used rooms in our homes for most of us, and most of us really don’t like to clean them. Unfortunately, we have to, because the food is prepared here, which means that the space itself must be clean and hygienic.

However, a few kitchen cleaning tips can help you get and keep your kitchen clean and tidy, with relatively little time and effort.

washing dishes

Because the dishes are so plentiful and always need to be washed, this is probably one of the hardest jobs to do, especially if you don’t have a dishwasher. As soon as you clean one set of dishes, voila, another seems to be ready and waiting to be washed.

If you have a dishwasher, this job can be simplified and made much easier. If you don’t have a dishwasher, you can still take steps to make it easier.

Small steps if you don’t have a dishwasher

If you’re not lucky enough to have a dishwasher, simplifying “dishwashing” will still help you do it as easily and quickly as possible. Depending on how many dishes you dirty over the course of the day, do them at least once a day when you’re done eating, or do them after every meal if you have a lot.

What you want to make sure of that happens is that you can do the dishes, fill the draining board, have a clean sink, and let the dishes air dry without having to towel dry them; that, in turn, will make the job easier.

When you do the dishes, you can do it in an “automated” way so that it gets done as quickly and easily as possible. So fill one section of your sink with hot, soapy water and leave the other side (if you have two sides) empty. As you do the dishes, place the clean, soapy dishes on the empty side of the sink.

When you’re done, give them a quick rinse, place them in the drain rack, and you’re done. Once dry (within a couple of hours), you should put the dishes away.

If you are lucky enough to have a dishwasher

If you are lucky enough to have a dishwasher, this process is quite simple. The idea here is that you want to use your dishwasher to “store” dirty dishes until you have a load of dishwasher, run the load, put the dishes away, and reload the dishwasher.

Don’t leave dirty dishes in the sink and don’t leave clean dishes in the dishwasher; Keeping your dishwasher empty of clean dishes will ensure that your sink is always clean and that your dishwasher is ready to go again as soon as it is full.

cleaning your sink

Cleaning your sink will be a lot less of a hassle if you keep your sink empty of dirty dishes. Once a week or every other day or so, you can give your sink a good scrub with a little cleaner or a little baking soda, but otherwise just rinse and then wipe down to keep it neat and tidy.

cleaning your countertops

Countertop clutter can really derail any effort to keep your kitchen tidy. So keep countertops as uncluttered as possible. Don’t pile dirty dishes on top of them and save as little as possible. Of course, household appliances such as coffee makers, toasters, etc. They can “live” on countertops, but keep them as empty as possible so you can keep them as clean as possible.

Plus, this will make cooking easier for you, since you’ll have cleared up counter space to work on. Wipe them well with a clean, soapy cloth and rinse regularly to keep things sanitary.

accessories

To keep your appliances like the microwave, refrigerator, and stove clean longer, clean up spills as soon as they happen. Thoroughly clean at least every season or once a year, depending on how often it’s needed.

Pay special attention to your refrigerator, because you can get sick if you don’t clean it thoroughly and make sure you throw out all spoiled food regularly.

Floors

Clean up spills as soon as they happen to keep your floors clean between scrubbing. If you do this, they generally only need to be mopped or scrubbed once a week. Sweep your floors daily, or as soon as dried spills occur, to minimize the amount you have to clean up.

The key to all kitchen cleaning tips is to do them regularly. If you wash the dishes every day, you will get into the habit and they won’t accumulate. The same applies to all other kitchen cleaning tips.

If you do daily cleaning as needed, you’ll find deep cleaning jobs much easier when it’s time to do them.
