Yoga Teacher Training Program
The Yoga Alliance Prenatal Certification Program is the first step toward becoming a certified yoga instructor. This certification provides you with the knowledge and tools to teach yoga classes to all levels, including prenatal classes. This course covers the physiology of pregnancy and childbirth, as well as embodied exploration. Students in the training program will graduate with the knowledge and skills necessary to instruct prenatal yoga classes. After completing the program, graduates will be confident and prepared to teach prenatal yoga to all stages of pregnancy.
The RPYT program requires a minimum of two years of yoga practice, and a 200-hour RYT. Applicants for the RPYT program must have a basic understanding of alignment principles, as well as at least three years of experience. In addition, they must have knowledge of sequencing hatha yoga classes and basic hatha yoga principles. They must be able to demonstrate proper alignment, teach correct hand on adjustments, and be comfortable in a teaching posture. The RPYT program is also accredited by the Yoga Alliance.
The program includes four weeks of classroom and practice teaching sessions, as well as a childbirth education class. The training requires an additional 20-hour Childbirth Education class in addition to the required two. This class provides a unique opportunity for students to observe the birthing process of a different member of the Birth Community. The course consists of ten hours of classroom time. Throughout the program, students are expected to attend ten prenatal yoga classes in the community, four of which are with a Lead Trainer and six with other prenatal yoga teachers in the community.

Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher certification includes a 200-hour teacher training program. The training includes a combination of in-person training, Zoom sessions, and homework. Approximately 30 hours of teaching experience is required for registration. There are many online programs and in-person classes. However, the most important aspect of this certification is the requisite for a registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher.
The program requires two hundred and twenty-hour of classroom time. It is a practical and hands-on program, which includes an extra Childbirth Education Class. Additionally, students are required to attend ten prenatal yoga classes in the community after their training. They also receive a certificate that says that they have passed the course. The program is not only rigorous, but it is also an ideal way to prepare for the perinatal phase.
