League of Legends is a remake from the creators of the popular Defense of the Ancients, also known as DOTA. DOTA is a famous custom map setup in Warcraft 3. This is probably one, if not the best, free game that you can download online for many reasons. Some are that the game design is addictive, many people play games, and the graphics are visually appealing. Not to mention, there are 78 customizable champions to choose from, but only 10 are available per week (unless you pay or spend a large number of Influence Points to unlock them).

The premise of the game is to control one of many champions, all with unique strengths and abilities, to fight your way through the spawning hordes of troops (called creeps) and destroy the enemy base. Do not forget that all the time you will be attacked by enemy champions who will try to trap your hero or destroy your base (almost like a video game version of chess). The part that makes League of Legends really interesting is that during each game you buy various weapons or equipment to increase your character’s stats such as mana, strength, health, etc. The only way to accumulate gold is by killing enemy champions or creep. So some players like to focus on leveling up by killing massive amounts of creep and earning gold for a better team, while others like to focus on killing enemy champions. Usually because I’m a greedy person and I like gold 🙂 I like to focus on killing creeps and buying better gear before I start concentrating on killing champions so I know I have the upper hand. The game also keeps records of your wins and losses to give you experience points (gain permanent levels) and influence points (unlock characters / skins), which is also a rewarding feature that allows players to match their skill level.

The only problem I have with this game is the lack of available maps. There aren’t many maps to choose from and the only game types are 3v3 or 5v5, which are the fundamental game types, but why not launch 1v1, 2v2 or 4v4? I have no more right to complain about a free game than to have a homeless man complain that he only tosses a nickel at him.

My qualifications for League of Legends:

Graphics- 7/10 The visuals in this game are a bit cartoonish that looks like Wow, but hey, I think it adds more appeal to this type of game.

Gameplay- 8/10 This game is extremely addictive! In addition, these types of games have a good chance of being very intense and attracting attention.

Audio- 7/10 The audio for this game is pretty typical.

Replay Value: 9/10 The reason I give League of Legends a 9 out of 10 is because this game is not only addictive and free, it has 78 different characters to choose from and more are added.
