Earth Ox 2009 in a Year of Fire

2009 is the year of the Earth Ox from the perspective of Chinese astrology. The element that cycles every two years is known as the celestial stem; so there are oxen of fire, earth, metal, water and wood. Variations in the celestial stem influence one’s personality, which explains why not all oxen (people or years) are the same.

The terrestrial branch is the animal, one of the twelve signs of the Chinese zodiac. The ox is considered second in the hierarchy, after the rat. 2009 is based on the Gregorian calendar, while the Chinese calendar is 4707. The ox is also sometimes called a cow or buffalo.

The ox years typically represent hard work. Think of the animal in its natural environment. It works alone or with others and stays true to its course. The ox is conservative, focused and serious. His motto is “I will”, which can literally result in a test of will.

The stubborn ox defies the fire year of Feng Shui (usually brings out a more social, gregarious and ambitious side). On the surface, the earth and fire elements of Feng Shui complement each other; however, earth reduces fire (think of your Scouting days: earth over fire to put it out). Also, the true nature of the ox is earth, so this year is a year of double earth over fire. The Earth, by itself, can resist change, but reappears after there is time to process. Double Earth will hold firm.

I can’t help but equate it to the presidential election here in the United States. Obama, whose motto has long been “Change we can believe in,” has changed his motto to “Change we need.” I think most people agree that we cannot survive more of the same and that the economy would be more stable if there had been more responsibility and supervision. Will we learn from the past? Will there be a fight of wills? I think so, regardless of who wins the election. It will be interesting to see how it unfolds, and the new president has his hands full. The steer year will have a methodical approach and measurable results.

The “terrestrial” companies will do quite well. They include real estate, contracting, food industry, agriculture, household products, and practical clothing. Energy involves business consolidation, which is typically met with layoffs. Next month’s article, Feng Shui 2009 and the Year of Fire, will reveal another layer of complexity. The Earth years can also produce a serious search for spirit and a greater focus on family. It’s fun to validate this theory by looking at history. The Chinese astrological calendar has a 60-year cycle, so the last time we experienced the energy of the Earth Ox was in 1949.

Events that occurred in 1949: Mao Tse Tung’s army marches towards Nanking; Bill introduced to relocate African Americans “equitably” across the country; Truman institutes the policy of aid to the underdeveloped countries; flight records are made; NATO begins; The Republic of Ireland is created; Siam becomes Thailand; The Chinese Communists take Shanghai; Orwell 1984 published; The Supreme Court rules that evidence gathered through illegal searches and seizures can still be used in prosecution; apartheid begins by law in South Africa; Willie Mayes debuts; The Vatican excommunicates the communists; seven UFOs in three pairs with a trace are tracked for ten minutes; Ingrid Bergman divorces and leaves Hollywood; Truman Announces Russia Has La Bomba; Mao Tse Tung Becomes President of China; and the Chiang Kai-shek government flees to Taiwan.

All the king’s men won the best picture. Let’s look at some of the births from that year. Some believe that we need to see where we came from to see where we are going (that is, lessons turn into opportunities). How have these people lived their lives? Think objectively about the impact they have had: George Forman, Robert Palmer, Steve Perry, Erik Estrada, Patrick Duffy, Jessica Lange, Billy Joel, Hank Williams, Jr., Lionel Richie, Meryl Streep, Lindsay Wagner, Maureen McGovern, Richard Gere , Joe Theisman, Ed Begley, Jr., Twiggy, Bruce Springsteen, Sigourney Weaver, Bruce Jenner, Richard Dreyfuss, Bonnie Raitt, Paul Shaffer, Garry Shandling, Jeff Bridges, Tom Waits, Maurice and Robin Gibb, Susan Lucci and Sissy Spacek. When you think of oxen, these people are famous, but for the most part they stand alone.

Every animal in Chinese astrology has an opposite animal. For the ox, this is the ram (or sheep). They are both land-related animals, which involves serious land-related symptoms such as earthquakes. With underlying yin fire, a volcano can also erupt. Other animals related to the land are the dragon and the dog. Dogs, dragons, oxen, and sheep should avoid strong land environments such as mountains and deserts during the Earth and Fire months (February 5-March 6, May 6-June 6, July 7-June 8). September, from November 7 to November 7). December 7), and when your astrological sign is vulnerable (we provide this information as part of our monthly advice).

This influence of oxen land also brings health precautions, such as cancer and liver problems. If you are a drinker, do so in moderation. You will find that DUI (driving under the influence) will face strict punishment. Purge your body of free radicals. Explore antioxidant agents like vitamins, fresh fruits and vegetables, and tea. The earth also represents the abdomen, stomach, immune system, spleen, joints, hands, and shoulders. Take care of your stomach and stretch your body to help with joint and shoulder pain.
